Workshop Description:

Join us for this dynamic workshop with one of our best speakers. Learn key insights from the four most celebrated experts in couples interventions and how to apply this information to individual therapy.

As you know, most clients' happiness depends on their relationships. And most clients go into therapy to process difficulties with their partners, families, colleagues, or friends. Various schools of couples therapy can enhance your ability to help your clients – whether you work with individuals, couples, or both.

In this workshop, you will learn the most important contributions of Harville Hendrix, John Gottman, Sue Johnson, and Terry Real. Their ideas will give you new ways to understand your client’s difficulties and new ways to help your clients have more fulfilling lives.

From Harville Hendrix, we will discuss integrating systems theory with psychodynamics and review mirroring, validation, and empathy. From John Gottman, we will look at the Sound Relationship House: stability, friendship, conflict management, and meaning. From Sue Johnson, we will explore attachment styles and negative cycles. Lastly, from Terry Real, we will discuss the Relationship Grid and the concepts of latent and blatant.

The experts in couples therapy can help you become a better therapist for relationship issues. You’ll get a vital overview – and a highly useable set of models and tools – in this one-day workshop.
