Learning Objectives:

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Review supervisory administration procedures & responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate individual supervision plans: Participants will articulate their unique approach to supervision, outlining both the theoretical framework they intend to apply and the practical steps for its implementation.
  • Create a “Supervision Contract Packet”: Participants will compile a comprehensive Supervision Contract Packet that includes a Professional Disclosure Statement & Informed Consent as well as other critical documents. This packet will serve as a foundational agreement between supervisors and supervisees, clarifying roles, expectations, and ethical guidelines. You will have an opportunity to receive feedback on your Contract Packet.
  • Create a personal ethical decision-making model: Supervisors will construct their own ethical decision-making model tailored to the supervisory relationship's complexities. This model will aid in navigating ethical dilemmas and ensuring the integrity of the supervisory process.
  • Apply supervisory principles in simulated scenarios, enhancing your skills in communication, feedback delivery, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Analyze case scenarios: Supervisors will dissect and discuss various case scenarios, applying their supervisory knowledge and ethical decision-making models to resolve issues and optimize supervisory outcomes.

Workshop Description:

This workshop is designed to cater to both new and seasoned supervisors in the counseling field.

We will comprehensively explore the practical aspects of supervision, emphasizing the development of a personal supervisory style and framework. This workshop combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises. Participants will actively engage in creating their essential supervisory documents, formulate their own ethical decision-making models, and apply supervisory principles through role-plays and case scenarios.
